Get Black Mask Import License

Overview

Black mask can be import in India from other countries. It requires compliance with DGFT (Directorate General of Foreign Trade) and customs regulations and Environment Compliance from Ministry of Environment Forest Climate Change (MOEFCC).

Black Mask in India is a Hazardous Waste extract from Lithium Ion Batteries under Hazardous Waste Management Rules 2016. When a Battery Recycler recycles a battery by using Metallurgical process, then apart from ferrous and nonferrous metal extraction, a byproduct also extracts which called as Black Mask. If the same recycler expand the unit to the Metallurgical process he can refine the black mask and can extract the High value minerals which can be sell to the respective recyclers, manufacturers or industries.  

 

Who Can apply

One who have a proper setup of refining the Black Mask in which proper extraction is there of High value minerals, he can only apply for the import of black mask. It is essential to apply for a Black Mask Import License to comply with current health, safety, and international trade norms. This license facilitates bulk shipments and opens up opportunities to Import of black mask and then after further extraction of High Value minerals can sell to the respective industries.

DGFT online application with payment receipt.

After submission of Application , there would be propoer inspecton of site from the concern department and the plant must in running condition during inspection. 

Proper ETP, and other waste dispose arrangments would be required on site , which will be cross checked by the concern. After that only the application will move further for clearences.
