Today we will talk about the RVSF facility i.e. Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility. This rule was first introduced in India in 2020. In view of this, many amendments, many changes have taken place in India. Now, according to the rules of 2024, everyone can setup RVSF plants.

But the most important thing in this is that which will help in the record and proper recycling of all the things in India. In RVSF Plant there is a process of dismantling off all types of vehicle, then the ferrous and non-ferrous materials coming out of it, as well as e- waste, plastic scrap, battery scrap, tyre scrap, Waste oil, all of these will be given to an authorized recycler so that they can do proper recycling or manufacturing process.

Role of MORTH In RVSF License

Our Minister of Road Transport and Highways has mandated that any RVSF plant requires documentation and certification. First, a minimum of two acres of land is required. After this, have to prepare a project report and have to submit application through an online portal and submit it to the Pollution Department (SPCB) for approval.

After obtaining establishment and operation approval from the Pollution Department, have to proceed further with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, which requires obtaining timely permission from the Transport Commissioner. The increasing number of vehicles in India can be addressed by scrapping old vehicles, so that the launch of many new vehicles in the future can be managed properly. When we scrap old vehicles, the materials recovered are quite good today.

EPR Credit and COD in RVSF

As per the latest amendment in the January 2026, whatever the raw material will extract from RVSF plant from the vehicles, have to give it to an authorized recycler only.. Along with this, by doing EPR registration in it, RVSF facility can also do credit work. Along with this, you can generate a COD certificate of disposal and give it to any manufacturing company so that they can complete their disposal properly and annual compliances and get help in manufacturing new vehicles
